Tomebound vs Archidekt
How Tomebound and Archidekt differ for tracking a Magic collection, and how to move your cards from Archidekt to Tomebound.
Archidekt is a visual deck builder with a collection tracker. Tomebound is a collection manager with deck pages. Both run in a browser.
Which is better for tracking a Magic collection, Tomebound or Archidekt?
It depends on whether decks or cards come first. Pick Archidekt if you want a visual deckbuilder with a deck sandbox, Commander tools and a large community of public decks. Pick Tomebound if you want a detailed record of every card you own, where each one is stored, and its value over time, or if you want Claude or ChatGPT to answer questions about your collection. You can import an Archidekt collection into Tomebound and keep building decks in Archidekt.
What each one is for
- Archidekt describes itself as a deck builder with a strong Commander focus. Its collection tracker lets you record the cards you own and build with cards you have.
- Tomebound is built around the collection: every printing, finish, condition and language, stored in containers such as binders and boxes, with decks that check ownership.
Price, as of October 2026
- Archidekt shows ads and offers a Patreon membership that removes them. Its Patreon page lists memberships starting at $2 per month.
- Tomebound is free. There are no paid plans.
Specifics
- Prices: Archidekt shows prices from TCGplayer, Card Kingdom, Cardhoarder and Cardmarket. Tomebound uses Scryfall prices, updated daily, and records daily value history for your collection, each container and each deck.
- Locations: Archidekt's collection has no binders or folders to import. Tomebound has containers, and each card can be located in one.
- Decks: Archidekt is stronger on visual deckbuilding, deck comparison, contests and public decks. Tomebound imports deck links from Archidekt, Moxfield, MTGGoldfish, MTGTop8, EDHREC and Scryfall, then shows what you own and what is missing.
- AI assistants: Tomebound connects to Claude (listed in its connector directory), to ChatGPT through its custom connector setup, and to other MCP clients. I did not find an assistant integration from Archidekt.
- Importing: Archidekt's newer collection importer adds cards as new entries even when you already own them, according to its developer update. Tomebound's import lets you choose, per row, whether to add to the existing quantity or leave it alone.
Move your collection from Archidekt to Tomebound
- In Archidekt, export your collection as a CSV.
- In Tomebound, open Add Cards, choose import, and upload the file. Tomebound recognizes Archidekt's columns and uses each card's Scryfall ID for the exact printing. Quantity, finish, condition, language and tags carry over.
- Archidekt's "Unsure" label comes in as a tag.
- Because Archidekt has no binders, choose where the cards go in the review. You can undo the whole import in one step.
Purchase prices are not imported. To bring decks across, paste an Archidekt deck link into Tomebound's deck import. See the import help for every supported format.
